Dengue Fever
I've been off colour for about one week with Dengue Fever - the doc only tested for it at the end of the week, so I was already on the mend by the time it was discovered what was wrong with me. I didn't show any of the regular symptoms - aches and pains, headaches. Only nauseous. Stuffed up a couple of my long runs, but I managed a very slow 16km on the Sunday (I only found out I had the disease on the Monday!). Doing Hobart 1/2 this weekend. My aim was to do it in under 2 hours, but now I'll just do a jog/walk, so it will take much longer.

Hot, hot, hot
It's so hot in Cairns now. I've decided to go for my Thursday night run on Friday morning! Covered the rest of this week's program okay. 17 on Sunday, 10 on Tuesday and 5 on Wednesday. Going to do 8 tomorrow.

Holidays are here!
Nice to go for the 10k Trinity Beach Loop yesterday with Rhonda, Sandra and Donna. And the 17k Freshie loop today knowing it's holidays now! No stress, just having a run. Got to check my schedual as Hobart 1/2 is not too far away now. Just under a month to go.

Another Freshie Loop on the weekend
It's been a bit of a down week, with only a 10km on Saturday and a 8km on Sunday. Then hills on Tuesday but I only did 9km where I normally do about 12. So did 8km on Wednesday night - as I'm suppose to. Will go out now for about an hour. Got the 10k at Rhonda's on Saturday and then doing the Freshie Loop again on Sunday - 17k. A bit tired as it's the end of term. But school holidays start tomorrow, so it will be good to have some time to rest and train up for Hobart 1/2 rapidly coming up in January!

Mareeba Beginner's catch up
I went up to Mareeba last night for the a catch up with the beginner runners there. Half are still going, which is pretty good for that group, as most only came along as it was part of the "Spring into Summer". Those who were there were motivated and we ran just over 3km. Mondays are my rest day, and I was a bit weary, so it's good we only went for a short run - for me. For the one lady, it's the furthest she's ever run. Very inspiring! Tonight is speed work.

Freshie loop done
Thanks to Rhonda and Janette, the 17km Freshie Loop was a good run this morning. We did have a couple of interuptions, but so be it. Long slow run it was. Tried the new Fanta Strawberry. Sweet.
